5 Jobscan Alternatives for Checking Your CV Against a Job (2026)

Updated 2026-10-30 · Job4Fit Guides

Jobscan made the CV-versus-job-posting check popular, and it is still good at it. People look for an alternative for three reasons: the price after the free scans run out, cancelling a subscription they no longer need, or a match rate that counts keywords without saying whether they actually meet the job.

This page compares five tools that do the same job in different ways. Prices were checked on each tool's own pricing page on 30 October 2026.

Short version: if you want to see whether you meet each requirement of a posting, try Job4Fit. For a CV and LinkedIn review on a long search, Resume Worded. For tracking dozens of applications, Teal. If you need to build a CV from scratch, Rezi or Enhancv, which are builders first.

What Jobscan does well

Fairness first. Jobscan compares your CV with a pasted job description and returns a match rate, the keywords you miss, and tips for specific applicant tracking systems such as iCIMS, Greenhouse, Taleo and Lever. Its weighting is public: hard skills count most, then education (only when the posting asks for an advanced degree), job title, soft skills and other keywords. It suggests aiming for about 75%. Around that core it has grown into a full platform: CV builder, LinkedIn optimization, job tracker, cover letters, interview practice and auto apply.

If you apply mainly in the US, to companies whose ATS you know, and you want one subscription for everything, Jobscan is a reasonable choice and you may not need an alternative.

Why people look elsewhere

What to look for in an alternative

Before comparing tools, decide which question you want answered:

  1. Does the tool check requirements (years, degree, certification, a specific skill) or only keywords?
  2. Does it show where in your CV each match comes from, so you can check it?
  3. What does the free plan cover, and what happens when it ends?
  4. What happens to your personal data: is it masked, which AI provider sees it, can you delete it?
  5. Do you need a builder or a tracker as well? If yes, a CV checker alone won't be enough.

The five alternatives at a glance

Tool Free plan Paid from How it matches a posting
Job4Fit 10 CV checkups and 3 job imports a month (beta) Free during beta One row per requirement, with the CV line that covers it
Teal Unlimited resumes and job tracking, top 5 keywords $29/month Keyword match score
Resume Worded Unlimited uploads, partial report $49/month, $229/year Relevancy score, matched and missing keywords
Rezi 1 resume, limited score $29/month, $149 lifetime Keywords from the job description
Enhancv 7 days €59 per quarter Match score and keyword suggestions

Job4Fit

Disclosure: this is our product, so read this section with that in mind.

Job4Fit splits the posting into its requirements and puts each one on its own row. For every row it quotes the part of your CV that covers it, or says that nothing does. Required items weigh twice as much as preferred ones. Hard blockers, such as fewer years of experience than the posting's minimum, cap the score instead of being averaged away. If the posting wants eight years and you have four, you will see "no" before you see a percentage.

The same upload gives you an ATS score with a breakdown by section, what a recruiter notices first, and the lines worth rewriting. You can also check the posting itself for red flags, like a missing salary or signs of a ghost job. Names, emails and phone numbers are masked before the text reaches the AI model.

What it does not do: no CV builder, no cover letters, no LinkedIn review, no application tracker, no browser extension. The interview simulator is still locked in beta. It's a young product with no reviews yet on Trustpilot or G2.

Best for: checking whether you are a real fit for a specific role before you spend an evening tailoring.

Teal

Teal is a job-search workspace first. The free plan includes unlimited resumes and an application tracker. The match score compares your CV with a posting and colour-codes keywords as present, available in your master resume, or missing. On the free plan you see only the top five keywords. Teal+ costs $29 every 30 days, $79 every 90 days or $13 every 7 days, and you can cancel any time.

Best for: people sending many applications who need a tracker more than a deep CV check.

Resume Worded

Resume Worded scores your CV out of 100 across more than 30 checks and promises that the same CV always gets the same score. Its Targeted Resume feature compares your CV with a posting and lists matched and missing keywords. It also reviews LinkedIn profiles. Pro is $49 a month, $99 a quarter or $229 a year. It is one of the few tools that names its AI providers in its privacy policy (OpenAI, Google Gemini, Anthropic) and says they cannot train on your data.

Best for: polishing both your CV and your LinkedIn profile, with an annual plan if you expect a long search.

Rezi

Rezi is a CV builder with an ATS score (the "Rezi Score") and keyword targeting that "scans the job description to identify crucial keywords". The free plan gives you one resume and three PDF downloads. Pro is $29 a month, or $149 once for lifetime access, which is unusual in this market.

Best for: writing an ATS-safe CV from scratch, paid once.

Enhancv

Enhancv is a design-focused builder. Paste a job ad into the builder and it shows a match score and the keywords to add. The free plan lasts seven days and adds Enhancv branding. Pro Quarterly is €59 every three months, about €19.67 a month.

Best for: a visual CV that still passes an ATS.

Which one to choose

You don't have to pick only one. Many job seekers build in one tool and check in another. All five have a free plan or trial, so test two of them on the same CV and posting and compare what they tell you.

FAQ

Is there a free alternative to Jobscan?

Yes. Job4Fit is free during its beta, with 10 CV checkups and 3 job imports a month. Teal's free plan matches your CV against postings but shows only the top five keywords. Resume Worded gives a partial report for free. Every tool here has a free plan or trial; the difference is how much of the result it shows before you pay.

What is the difference between a keyword match and a requirement match?

A keyword match counts how many terms of the posting appear in your CV. A requirement match checks each condition of the posting (years of experience, degree, a named skill) and tells you whether your CV meets it and where. A CV can score 80% on keywords and still miss the one requirement that gets it rejected.

Can I use Jobscan and another tool together?

Yes, and it often makes sense. Use a builder like Rezi or Enhancv to write the CV, then a checker like Jobscan or Job4Fit to test it against each posting before you apply. Start on the free plans and pay only for the one you keep using.

Are Jobscan alternatives safe for my personal data?

It depends on the tool, so read the privacy policy before uploading. Look for whether personal details are masked before the text reaches an AI model, which provider processes it, and whether you can delete your CV. Resume Worded names its AI providers; Job4Fit masks names, emails and phone numbers first. For the others, these details were not stated on the pages we could read.
